Thanksgiving

While excited to see my family and meet Audrey, I was dreading the drive to Jennifer's. Ayden is a terrible traveler and we haven't traveled too far with Mackenzie. I had EVERY reason to dread the drive. It started out alright. I had kept them up during the day so they would be ready for a nap. That was a good idea. Both kids slept for about two hours. Once we got to Cincinnati Kenzie melted down! Now I am driving in 5 o'clock traffic and Kenzie is screaming. My nerves were frazzled. Thankfully she fell asleep again and we made it just south of Columbus before we stopped to eat. The last two hours of the trip were filled with whining from Ayden and crying from Kenzie. We decided to stay in a hotel for the night. Kenzie did not do well. I'm guessing she got around 5/6 hours of sleep. Oh well!

We had a nice visit with my family and Josh's family. Audrey is precious. I was afraid it may give me baby fever, but I'm okay. Babies are a lot of work. The kids played well and did a photo shoot.

Our drive home was more of the same. Kenzie slept for about 3 & 1/2 half hours before we stopped to eat. Then she proceeded to scream and cry the last two hours home. Brandon and I decide we can do about 4 hours before the kids just can't handle it. I'm grateful Jennifer does most of the traveling:)

Circus

Last year we started a tradition of going to the circus on Thanksgiving. I'm not going to lie we go just as much for me as we do Ayden.

When we got there we walked around on the floor. I tried to get Ayden to ride an elephant, but he didn't want to. We continued on looking at the snake, camel, alligator and SpongeBob. On our way back to our seats I asked Ayden one more time if he wanted to ride the elephant. This time he said yes. I paid $20 so he and I could ride. I said a silent prayer in my head to keep this off the news. All went well on our two circles. The ride was awesome.
Ayden and I on the elephant.

The show was great. I think Ayden's favorite part was the BMX guys. It may be time to take him to see BMX. Brandon  thinks it is a sign to get him a dirt bike.

I love this tradition we started. I feel blessed to give our kids these kind of experiences. Now when he watches Madagascar 3, he can make a connection to the movie. We have really seen a bear drive a motorcycle!

Picture Day

In my head these pictures were going to be great. Ayden and Mackenzie were going to cooperate and smile. WRONG!

This was so frustrating. Ayden is so opositional these days. If I asked him to look at me, he would look everywhere but at me. When asking him to smile he would give this weird ugly smile. This is why I refuse to have professional pictures done. However, after 200 plus photos I did manage to get a few good ones. Next year the kids will cooperate, right?
